This repaired ceramic whale has a wonderfully characterful, almost mythical feel. Its deep blue-green, mottled glaze gives the body a rich, ocean-like appearance, while the textured underside is finished with fine carved lines that suggest the whale’s pleated belly.
The sweeping tail and fins give it a lovely sense of movement, as though it has just surfaced from the depths. The visible repair adds another layer to the piece — rather than hiding its history, it becomes part of the whale’s story, giving it a wonderfully “rescued and reborn” quality.
Measures 30cm long x 24cm deep x 19cm high
When it looks to the right and on a shelf you cannot see the repairs but it doesn’t detract from its charm as the gold blends in. Normal price is £325 so this is a bargain !!
