My  humpback whale ceramic sculpture is perched on a smooth piece of pale driftwood, giving it the feel of a marine creature breaching above the sea. The whale is painted in rich oceanic blue glaze which breaks mottled textures along its back, contrasted by a creamy white underside detailed with carved throat grooves and
small golden barnacle-like accents (one being a special bronze). Its long pectoral fin hangs downward, and the upward-curving body with raised tail creates a graceful, dynamic pose. The driftwood base—weathered and sculptural in its own right—looks naturally shaped by New Zealand’s coastal elements, adding an earthy, beachcomber aesthetic.  I was so happy to find this at Gardeners world Garden show at Beaulieu on 3/5/26 - I knew it was what my whale needed to compliment it so well!!!
